Favorite: Dairy Queen Oreo Cheesecake Blizzard
My mom knows by now, that if we’re on a road trip somewhere, there’s a darn good chance we’re stopping somewhere for a sweet treat. If it’s a visit to one of my favorite vintage stores in Huntingburg, Indiana, we’re definitely going to the nearby Dairy Queen.
Now, some people love the Peanut Buster Parfait, some get a dipped cone, but my go-to DQ treat is the Oreo Cheesecake (or Cheesequake) Blizzard. It’s a natural combination, given my love for both tasty mix-ins. The Oreos give a great chocolatey crunch, and the cheesecake cubes have a nice change of texture, with an added bit of richness. It’s blissful, really.
I always get the mini size (198.45 grams) — it’s the perfect serving for me. On yesterday’s visit I was awarded two cups for some reason, and the drive-through guy did not serve it to me in the typical upside-down fashion. I barely noticed though, because this one was particularly chunky and oh-so-freaking good.
